Below are just some of the many procedures and services we regularly provide to our patients— with a gentle touch, and stunning results. Your smile is our 1st priority and we’ll give you something to smile about.
Preventative Care
The best thing you can do for your oral health is keep your professional dental team involved. At your preventative appointment every six months, Dr. Alford and Dr. Everett will examine your mouth for signs of cavities and gum disease.

Your dental hygienists will use special instruments to remove the plaque and calculus from your teeth. They can screen for oral cancer, evaluate your supporting bone structure, and assess your current dental work.

Your dental team will be able to detect oral health problems earlier than you can. Early treatment will reduce your potential for serious health problems down the road.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Technological advancement in cosmetic dentistry techniques, procedures, and materials has made attaining a beautiful smile easier than ever. Dr. Alford and Dr. Everett are committed in providing you with not just great looking results, but with long-lasting stability and health. We provide cosmetic dental procedures to give you the smile you’ve always wanted!

Composite fillings can cosmetically blend with the adjacent tooth much better than old metal fillings.

Crowns are long lasting restorations that are used to restore teeth that have been weakened or damaged due to decay, fracture, cracks, large fillings, root canal therapy or trauma. Crowns are popularly known as “caps”.

Bridges are used to replace missing a missing tooth/teeth. It is composed of two crowns placed onto either side of the missing tooth (abutments) to connect and support the replacement tooth or teeth (pontic).

Veneers are a type of cosmetic dentistry that can improve discolored, worn, chipped, or crooked teeth in your smile. Veneers are also a valuable way to protect the teeth from future problems associated with staining agents in your diet or habits.
Periodontal Care
Periodontal gum disease is caused mainly by bacteria. Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that continuously forms on the teeth and below the gum-line causing irritation and inflammation of the gums. Calcular deposits, also known as “tartar” are hardened plaque. These are the cement-like deposits above and below the gum-line.

Recent studies have shown that Periodontal Disease can have significant effects on not only your oral health, but your overall health. It has been associated with health problems such as diabetes and heart disease.

Gingivitis is an early form of Periodontitis, or gum disease. If you experience an occasional swelling of the gums, gums that bleed after brushing or flossing, itchy gums, or bright red or purple gums, chances are you have Gingivitis. Gingivitis can be treated by having your teeth professionally cleaned, followed by a strict oral hygiene regimen, including anti-bacterial rinses. If the condition is left untreated, Gingivitis can escalate into Periodontitis. Periodontitis symptoms include those of Gingivitis, as well as, a metallic taste in the mouth, receding gums, enlarged spaces between the gums and teeth, severe halitosis (bad breath), and even loose teeth (from loss of bone).

To arrest Periodontitis, we remove the buildup of bacterial plaque and calculus, through scraping or ultrasonic vibration. Alternatively, antibiotics may be placed between the teeth and gums, which also help to reduce plaque and combat the disease. The best defense against gum disease is prevention and early detection through regular oral examination and cleaning.

Dentures/Partials

Dentures and partial dentures are used to replace missing teeth. In the past, the loss of teeth signaled a decline in health that could rarely be reversed. After all, it is important to all humans to eat and, therefore, to have a means of chewing their food. In many cases, dentures or partial dentures are an option that will enable patients to eat, speak, smile, and live a more normal and active life!
Teeth Whitening
Like most people, you may want a whiter, brighter smile. When your smile is bright and beautiful, you are more likely to use it. For many patients, creating a smile that makes you feel more confident is simply a matter of getting their teeth whitened!

A Take Home Whitening System is the most popular approach for the reason that it is more affordable and allows you to whiten your teeth at your convenience—in a safe, effective, and personalized way. This utilizes a custom-made tray and prescription strength whitening gels that you will use every day. Some patients notice results in less than 2 weeks.

Restorations Over Implants

Implants are an excellent method of replacing missing teeth. Dr. Alford and Dr. Everett work closely with surgical teams to place and restore dental implants.

If you have missing teeth and are looking for a more permanent replacement option than dentures or partials, dental implants might be the right choice for you. Implants are surgically placed and then restored with crowns, bridges, or dentures that are supported by the implants.

We strongly believe in using high quality restorative materials for our patients, and we only trust our restorative work to the best dental labs. We are also proud to only use restorations made in the United States. If your implant is supporting a crown, you should know that we offer metal-free crowns for a more natural appearance.
 BOTOX®

Here at Alford Family Dentistry, both Dr. Alford & Dr. Everett have advanced knowledge of facial anatomy and are specially trained to administer BOTOX® treatments!

What is BOTOX?

Commonly used to smooth wrinkles and fine lines around the face, BOTOX® is the first nonsurgical injectable therapy FDA-approved to temporarily reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles — any wrinkle formed through muscle movement in the face — such as:

  • Crow’s feet
  • Glabellar lines, or wrinkles between the eyebrows
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Frown lines
  • Bunny lines around the bridge of the nose
  • Lip wrinkles around the mouth
  • Chin dimples

Not only does BOTOX® improve the appearance of wrinkles, but when used in cosmetic dentistry, it also minimizes gummy smiles, giving patients a better gum-to-teeth ratio.

Although BOTOX® injections are best known for their cosmetic applications, it can also serve as therapeutic treatment for problems such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and bruxism.

ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect is an innovative new way to straighten teeth. It offers a great alternative to traditional teeth-straightening treatments like braces. This treatment uses clear, plastic aligners that fit over your teeth to gradually align them over time.

The aligners are removable for easy eating and teeth cleaning, but you need to wear them for at least 20 hours per day for the best results. Wear the ClearCorrect aligners any time you are not eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.

ClearCorrect is an increasingly popular means to fix poorly aligned teeth, due to its ease of use and comfort. Curious about why ClearCorrect might be better than braces or other traditional orthodontic approaches? Check out these benefits:

  • Invisibility, because the aligners are clear, other's won't even know you're wearing them
  • Comfort, because the smooth plastic reduces the risk of mouth irritation that can be caused by metal braces
  • Convenience, because when you need to floss, brush your teeth, or eat, you can just take out the aligners
  • Timing, because ClearCorrect treatments can work up to 50% faster than other orthodontic techniques

ClearCorrect may not be the right treatment for you if you have major alignment and orthodontic issues. Dr. Alford & Dr. Everett may recommend an alternative treatment if this is the case. Schedule an appointment to find out if ClearCorrect is right for you!

Endodonic Treatment

Why would I need endodontic treatment?

Endodontic treatment (popularly known as a root canal) is needed when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can be caused by repeated dental procedures on the tooth, deep decay, or a crack or chip in the tooth. An injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the affected tooth has no visible chips or cracks. Pulp inflammation or infection left untreated may cause pain or lead to an abscess. Signs of pulp damage include pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, discoloration of the tooth and swelling and tenderness in the gums. Sometimes no symptoms occur.

How does endodontic treatment save my tooth?

Here at Alford Family Dentistry, we will remove the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully clean and shape the inside of the tooth, then fill and seal the space. We will then place a crown or other restoration on the tooth to protect and restore it to full function.
