Here at Alford Family Dentistry, both Dr. Alford & Dr. Everett have advanced knowledge of facial anatomy and are specially trained to administer BOTOX® treatments!
What is BOTOX?
Commonly used to smooth wrinkles and fine lines around the face, BOTOX® is the first nonsurgical injectable therapy FDA-approved to temporarily reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles — any wrinkle formed through muscle movement in the face — such as:
Not only does BOTOX® improve the appearance of wrinkles, but when used in cosmetic dentistry, it also minimizes gummy smiles, giving patients a better gum-to-teeth ratio.
Although BOTOX® injections are best known for their cosmetic applications, it can also serve as therapeutic treatment for problems such as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder and bruxism.
ClearCorrect is an innovative new way to straighten teeth. It offers a great alternative to traditional teeth-straightening treatments like braces. This treatment uses clear, plastic aligners that fit over your teeth to gradually align them over time.
The aligners are removable for easy eating and teeth cleaning, but you need to wear them for at least 20 hours per day for the best results. Wear the ClearCorrect aligners any time you are not eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.
ClearCorrect is an increasingly popular means to fix poorly aligned teeth, due to its ease of use and comfort. Curious about why ClearCorrect might be better than braces or other traditional orthodontic approaches? Check out these benefits:
ClearCorrect may not be the right treatment for you if you have major alignment and orthodontic issues. Dr. Alford & Dr. Everett may recommend an alternative treatment if this is the case. Schedule an appointment to find out if ClearCorrect is right for you!
Why would I need endodontic treatment?
Endodontic treatment (popularly known as a root canal) is needed when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can be caused by repeated dental procedures on the tooth, deep decay, or a crack or chip in the tooth. An injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the affected tooth has no visible chips or cracks. Pulp inflammation or infection left untreated may cause pain or lead to an abscess. Signs of pulp damage include pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, discoloration of the tooth and swelling and tenderness in the gums. Sometimes no symptoms occur.
How does endodontic treatment save my tooth?
Here at Alford Family Dentistry, we will remove the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully clean and shape the inside of the tooth, then fill and seal the space. We will then place a crown or other restoration on the tooth to protect and restore it to full function.
